Benitez gets TESDA award

Rep. Alfredo Benitez (Neg. Occ., 3rd District) is among the national awardees of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) 2018 Kabalikay Awards Program.

This was in recognition of his exemplary support and cooperation with TESDA in the area of technical education and skills training for livelihood and employment, the agency announced in a press release.

Benitez was represented by Barry Enriquez and Lagrimas Silvestre of his office at the awarding rites at the TESDA Women’s Center in Taguig City on August 23.

TESDA Provincial Director Jimmisio Daoaten, cited the substantial contribution of Benitez and his office to the promotion, enhancement and provision of relevant technical vocational education and training for constituents.

Benitez has partnered with TESDA since 2011 for the participation of more than 2,000 qualified and deserving constituents in the Third District in various programs, among them the Special Training for Employment Program (STEP), Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP) and the Private Education Student Financial Assistance (PESFA).

This year, the office of Benitez intensified its community-based skills training in Murcia, Talisay, Silay, EB Magalona and Victorias, which included inmates of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology on shielded metal arc welding, automotive, hilot wellness massage therapy, bread-making, and cake-making, the press release added.*
