The Bacolod-Negros Occidental Economic Highway that is connecting Victorias City to the Bacolod Silay Airport Access Road is expected to be completed in 2021, Rep. Alfredo Abelardo Benitez (Neg. Occ., 3rd District) said yesterday.
Work on the estimated P1.45 billion project started in 2017, he said.
Benitez said P400 million was appropriated for it in 2017, P600 million this year, and P220 million in 2019.
The new road will decongest traffic and make travel time from Bacolod to Victorias faster, he said.
Meanwhile, Benitez said he is asking the Department of Public Works and Highways to look into what is causing the delay in the lighting up of some sections of the BSAAR. The lack of lighting has caused many to avoid travelling through the BSAAR at night.*
