UNeGA, Love Negros unification soon – Benitez

MANAPLA, Negros Occ. –  Unification talks between the United Negros Alliance of Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon and Love Negros Team headed by 3rd District Rep. Alfredo Benitez are underway.

Benitez, who is among the guests in the 46th Annual General Membership Assembly of the Northern Negros Electric Cooperative on May 27, 2018, told reporters in an ambush interview here that unification “is something that is being discussed by their group”.

When asked when the unification will happen, Benitez said: “anytime soon because we cannot really prolong it”.

Benitez said there are feelers from both camps to meet.

“Definitely we will sit down with the governor on what our future plans will be,” Benitez said.

He added that he believes both groups should sit down and discuss to work together for the benefit of the Negrenses.

Benitez was endorsed by Maranon to run for senator in the 2018 polls.

However, most of his colleagues in Love Negros Team are pushing for him to run for governor.
