Reaching Out to Informal Settler Families in Metro 3rd


Focusing on the other “H” in his  METRO 3RD ASENSO –IHELP (infrastructure-health & housing-education & environment-livelihood-policy) PROGRAM, Congressman Alfredo Benitez  initiated an inventory of informal settler families (ISF) and a review of the various housing programs of local government units in the Third District.



Site inspection with Victorias Milling Company representatives.  Marie June Castro, Paz Marie Valenciano and Allana Montepio of the Congressional District Office accompanied by VMC staff Beltran Gargoles, Romy Moses Depasucat, Fortunato Deo Sombero and Wilmar Castillo visited the proposed 10-hectare lot that will be donated by VMC for socialized housing for ISFs in the VMC community.

Albee joins Silay Tourism Council Meet




Congressman Alfredo Benitez recently joined the meeting of the Silay City Tourism Council as the body reviewed the Silay City Tourism Code and made plans to further strengthen tourism development in the city and Metro 3rd. Talisay, EBM Teams – Frontrunners In Albee Cup


The Talisay Albee Cup cagers take the lead in basketball and in men’s volleyball with the EBM lady spikers as frontrunners, as the District 3 inter-LGU tournament finished its 4th weekend matches last June 17 and 18 hosted by EB Magalona.

Silay men’s spikers suffered twin losses to EBM and Talisay in volleyball games held at the Barangay Tabigue covered court. In the women’s match, EBM beat Victorias but the Victorias spikers beat Silay.

Talisay Scores Multiple Wins In 2nd Week Of 3rd Albee Cup


The Talisay Team in the 3rd Albee Cup Inter-LGU Sportsfest scored multiple wins over the other LGU groups in the second week of the basketball and volleyball games.

The Talisay 3rd Albee Cup Team led by Councilors Rolin Meliton and RJ Tuvilla flank Dr. Francisco Benitez who was guest speaker at the Inter-LGU Sportsfest opening.

In the basketball matches for 39 below category , Talisay won over Victorias last June 3; and beat Silay in the June 4 schedule . Talisay also beat Murcia (June 3) and EB Magalona (June 4) in the 40 above basketball games.

Talisay’s 5th win is in the volleyball-men’s category last June 4, playing against EB Magalona.

DOE, DOST validation teams visit Third District for solar projects

Negros Occidental Third District Congressman Alfredo Benitez has facilitated last week vital groundwork to enable residents and communities in remote and far-flung areas in his District to enjoy power and water supply harnessed from renewal energy.



ENGR. JIMMY PLANAS of Central DOE explains to residents of Barangay Canlusong, EB Magalona the Household Electrification Program of the DOE.

Two separate validation teams arrived in the province from the Department of Energy and the Department of Science and Technology. Both were guided by the House and District staff of Cong. Benitez, with the support and cooperation of the local government executives of the Third District.

Flu Shots For Victorias Schoolchildren


A total of 150 schoolchildren of the Estado Elementary School-Hacienda Mimi Extension, in Barangay 10 – Barrio Estado, Victorias City were beneficiaries of free immunization for influenza, a project of Victoriahanon Mrs. Victoria Bantug Hoffart together with the Victorias Kaayong Lawas Foundation and the Immaculate Conception Health Center to commemorate the 98th birth anniversary of former Victorias Mayor Remedios Palanca Bantug.
